Assess the impacts of changes to the Carbon cycle on the Arctic region???
One impact Changes to the carbon cycle such as humans burning fossil fuel therefore releasing carbon that was stored in long term storage ment that more carbon is in the atmosphere now than before, this led to a increase in global temperature leading to permafrost thawing which stores a bunch of carbon and organic material, the melting of permafrost means more carbon will be released to the atmosphere creating a circle of chaos.
Another impact would be the increase in plant growth in artic as warmer temperatures means a longer growing season and due to more carbon in the atmosphere the vegetations will grow even faster and the carbon the trees absorb is minimal compared to the melting of artic releasing stored carbon.
Othe impact of this would be the loss of biodiversity in artic as changes in temperature and habitat can lead to a decline or even extension of the animals living there.leading to less diversity overall.
In conclusion the changes to carbon cycle such as more carbon in the atmosphere means artic will melt faster than anyone has ever seen before and this will release massive tonnes of carbon stored in permafrost leading to more meltdown and sea level will rise and temperature of the ocean will rise meaning the ocean will absorb even less carbon leading to the death of the planet earth
